Why choose gymnastics?


It’s not news to us that it can be extremely valuable for our kids to get involved in gymnastics, but there might be more benefits than we think.

Of course, we should encourage children to take part in any exercise, though many believe gymnastics is one of the most beneficial there is. But why is that?

As well as general health and social advantages for a child, gymnastics also helps improve strength, discipline, coordination, flexibility, power and speed – all of which are transferable for participation in other sports as well.

And it’s not just good news for the kids! Studies show that taking part in gymnastics also helps children sleep better – no more bedtime arguments (well, maybe not as many!).

At Total Gymnastics, we find it impossible to rank these benefits in order of importance. We’re proud to say that we help all our parents in encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle for our gymnasts, but there’s nothing better than seeing a child grow in confidence and leave our lessons with new friends.
