It is one of our more established venues, providing classes for all age ranges and uses both the Beth Tweddle Gym Stars and The Beth Tweddle Total Gymnastics Academies programmes. Children with some or no gymnastics experience can join the classes at this venue. The gymnasts can train from between 1 or 2 hours and have the opportunity to work on vault, bars, benches and floor.

From the Childwall fiveways, carry on down Queens Drive as if coming from the M62 until you get to another roundabout. Take the first exit and follow the road up and take a sharp right after a set of pedestrian lights then an immediate left onto Harthill road. The school is on the right and you should park in entrance one. The gym is Calder gym and is located through the black iron gates opposite the swimming pool.
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday Gym Stars: The children will be working through our Gym Stars programme using the badges 1-7 for the Twinkle Stars, badges 6 - 14 for Bright Stars and badges 8 - 14 for Shooting Stars. We aim for them to achieve one award per 10-12 week term with one skill being marked as achieved each week in their progress booklets.
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Rising Star and Pre academy sessions will be working though a mixture of our gym star programme badges 6-14 or our academy badges 8-1 this is depending on the level the gymnast is at when the coach has recommended they move to this session.
Monday and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 'HUB' Academy: The children will be working through the British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards and the Advanced Proficiency Awards. Gymnasts will begin at badge 8 pending an assessment from their personal coach within the first few weeks.
Parents can stay for the first session should they wish to do so, however after the first session they will not be permitted to stay as the coaches will require the gymnasts full attention at all times during the session.
Gymnasts should wear shorts and a t-shirt, leggings/tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt or a leotard if they so wish. No jewellery is permitted, long hair should be tied back of their face. All earrings must be removed and if this is not possible then they must be tapped up. They should always bring a drink to their sessions.
They must also bring along their progress booklet as this is where the coaches will record all progress and mark off what skills have been achieved. If the gymnast loses their progress booklet, a new one must be purchased at a cost of £3.50 so please ensure they are kept safe.
