2017 Gymnastics World Championships

The 2017 Gymnastics World Championships ran from the 2nd to the 8th of October, and our very own Beth Tweddle was in Montreal witnessing the exciting week of competition!

The event ran for 7 days in total, with more than 500 gymnasts from around the world competing for one of the 12 World Champion titles. Having Beth there covering the event is exciting – being the role model in gymnastics she is. We spoke to her about Max Whitlock's huge win, which you can read here.

Before jetting off to Canada, Beth said, “Great Britain have had so much success over the past few years and we have a lot of talent coming through the ranks. I am really excited to see what they can achieve. It is slightly different this year as there will be no team competition and it is all about the individual gymnasts and their own performances.”

Now is a better time than ever for young children to pursue gymnastics, whether it be a hobby, a fun way to keep active, or to pursue a dream of becoming a professional gymnast – the benefits really do come in different ways.

Most of all though, it's about children having fun whilst also challenging themselves. That's when the real benefits show!

Here at Beth Tweddle’s Total Gymnastics, we’re passionate about giving every child the opportunity to get involved in gymnastics. Our lessons build confidence, improve social skills and teach determination – priceless attributes that help children succeed in later life.
