Beth crowned European Bars Champion 2011!

Beth gained her 6th European title this weekend in Berlin by producing a new bar routine worthy of a score of 15.100 and the Gold medal! Her routine had the highest difficulty of the 8 gymnasts in the final with a massive 6.7 and she still has more to come in the run up to 2012!

Beth said after finishing her routine on Saturday afternoon"The main feeling coming off today is relief! I knew what I needed to do and although it wasn’t perfect it was good enough. I had a long wait to compete and hadn’t even touched the bars for an hour so I was very anxious to get going. In the qualification I had noticed that I was slipping on the matt at the beginning so this time we chalked them which helped me grip and be in the perfect position to start. I am really happy that I have put my new routine out there and come away with the Gold medal!”

Carrying minor injuries to her feet Beth still managed to qualify for the floor final place 4th with her new floor routine! “I couldn't have asked for much more out there considering I haven’t really trained floor fully for quite a while, so I'm pretty happy to have gone out clean with the deductions on my landings perhaps showing my injury. To have won 5 of the last 6 floor and bars titles at the Europeans has been beyond my wildest dreams. I began gymnastics for fun and am so proud to have achieved so much. Looking ahead its great that I have been able to get my new routines out there and I can now focus on perfecting them in the run up to the Worlds and 2012.” - Beth after floor on Sunday.

CONGRATULATIONS BETH!
