Beth joins the Board of Switch the Play

Our own Beth Tweddle has announced that she is to play a part in helping other sportspeople make the often difficult transition from the competitive sports arena to the world of business.

Beth is giving some of her spare time to become a Director of Switch the Play, a social enterprise working with UK Sport, Sport England and official representatives of a range of sports. STP work to support those transitioning into a life after sport by working directly with athletes, organisations and support staff.

Beth says that she is committed to continuing the development of Beth Tweddle Gymnastics (formerly Total Gymnastics) and wants to use her experiences of 'life after sport' to help others,

“Elite level gymnastics was a huge part of my life and moving away from that could have been a really scary time but luckily, with the support network around me, this allowed a smooth transition. I had already set up Beth Tweddle Gymnastics (formerly Total Gymnastics) with Steve Parry and that allowed me to have a focus away from my career as a gymnast. I really want to help athletes realise that there are support networks out there to help with their transition and it’s never too early to think about life after sport.”
