Beth’s Rio Diary – One week in!

 Wow, what a whirlwind of a first week in Rio, it’s been great fun and there has been some fantastic gymnastics taking place. Shame I’ve not had time to be a tourist around Rio……yet!

 Last night was the final day of qualifications for our artistic gymnastics, all in all it’s been a very successful few days for Team GB.

Both the men and women have qualified for the team final, the men’s final will be on at 8pm tonight UK time, so make sure you don’t miss out. I think we have a real chance to improve on our 3rd place finish 4 years ago.

Individually we have also had great success with Max Whitlock, Nile Wilson, Kristian Thomas, Louis Smith, Ellie Downie and Amy Tinkler all qualifying for finals, ranging from all round to floor.

The atmosphere in the arena has been unbelievable and that has been without it at full capacity so I can’t wait to see what it is like for the finals this evening.

Hopefully my next blog will be writing about how Team GB have picked up some medals. Fingers crossed!
